You play Sun City and Leopard Creek in the same week and never pack a suitcase twice. The train solves the hardest part of a golf trip.”

FRUITA, CO, UNITED STATES, August 11, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Luxury Rail Safaris, an official US agent for Rovos Rail, has published 2027 departure dates and US-dollar pricing for the Rovos Golf Safari, a nine-night journey aboard the Pride of Africa that plays South Africa's championship courses between game drives, with every green fee and golf cart included. Details are published at https://luxuryrailsafaris.com/rovos-golf-safari.

The journey runs round-trip from Pretoria, with the train serving as a traveling clubhouse. The course roster, which varies by season and availability, spans five golfing regions: the Gary Player Country Club and Lost City courses at Sun City, Champagne Sports Resort below the Drakensberg, Durban Country Club, Beachwood and Zimbali on the Indian Ocean coast, Royal Swazi Sun in eSwatini, and Leopard Creek, White River and Nelspruit in the Kruger lowveld.

Non-golfing companions travel at the same rate and follow their own program while the golfers play: Big Five game viewing at Pilanesberg, Hluhluwe-iMfolozi and Kruger, the Anglo-Boer War battlefields at Spionkop, Swazi Candles in eSwatini, and the highland town of Dullstroom. Both parties reunite each evening, with dinners that are formal, one evening with a 1920s theme, and the train has no televisions by design.

Pricing for 2027 starts at $8,100 per person sharing in a Pullman suite, with Deluxe at $11,500 and Royal at $15,250 — about $900 a night at the entry level, with green fees, carts, all meals, on-board beverages, excursions and government tax included. The safari is priced by Rovos Rail in South African rand; dollar figures are approximate, converted at July 2026 rates, and are subject to change until confirmed in writing at the time of booking. Five 2027 departures are scheduled: January 5-14, January 26-February 4, March 16-25, September 28-October 7, and October 19-28.

"Golfers tell us the hardest part of a South African golf trip is the logistics between the great courses. On this journey, the train solves it — you play Sun City and Leopard Creek in the same week and never pack a suitcase twice," said Dick Kennerknecht, Rovos Rail specialist at Luxury Rail Safaris. "At about nine hundred dollars a night with every green fee included, it may be the quietest value in luxury travel."

As a US agent, the company arranges gateway flights from the United States, connections, and the details of traveling with golf clubs to Pretoria.
