Special Envoy for the Horn of Africa Affairs of the Foreign Ministry Hu Changchun Attends Chad’s National Day Reception

On August 11, 2026, Special Envoy for the Horn of Africa Affairs of the Foreign Ministry Hu Changchun, upon invitation, attended Chad’s National Day reception hosted by the Embassy of Chad in China.

Special Envoy Hu Changchun extended his congratulations on Chad’s National Day and stated that in recent years, the strategic partnership between China and Chad has seen continuous development, deepening political mutual trust, and fruitful cooperation across various fields. China is willing to work with Chad to effectively implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state and the outcomes of the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, deepen mutually beneficial cooperation, and better benefit the people of both countries.

Ambassador of Chad to China Saleh Chahaimi Abakar spoke highly of Chad-China relations and stated that Chad firmly adheres to the one-China principle and will continue to stand with China in international affairs. He expressed gratitude to China for continuously deepening bilateral cooperation across various fields through initiatives such as the Belt and Road Initiative, which has provided strong support for Chad’s economic and social development.
